A bit about me: I've edited an award winning documentary about beards, worked on multiple Catholic shows, numerous web-series with members of the NYC comedy community. I was the head of transcoding and lead editor at a Video On Demand company, study improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, and produce content for the People's Improv Theater. So far it's been a surreal, yet enjoyable trip.
I graduated with honors from Rowan University in the spring of 2009. While at Rowan, I worked on a wide array of student productions, most notably the award-winning pieces Life Behind Beards and Be Somebody. These projects helped lay the groundwork for my professional career.
After graduation, I was hired as freelancer for Riverview Studios in Bordentown, NJ. Riverview Studios is a small production company, which allowed me to experience in all facets of the production process. Though my primary role was camera operator, I would often help with every part of the production from the early stages of pre-production through the render heavy sessions of post.
The next step in my professional career brought me to Digi South, LLC in New York, NY. I started with the company as a transcoding technician, but worked my way up to Lead Video Editor and the head of the Transcoding Department. Thanks to my time at Digi South, I’m now very knowledgeable in file formats, encoding/transcoding techniques and video editing.
Along with holding a full-time position, I still manage to create personal and freelance projects. You can view some of these pieces by visiting the video section of this site. Please feel free to contact me. I’m always looking for new projects and professional inquires.
Thanks,
David C. Monk
